Grumble grumble, yes indeed. That Morrison's was the only supermarket one left without egg in it. Thanks for the petition link.

Another sadness was the appearance of milk in the Waitrose Belgian Chocolate range. Waitrose did say they had changed the recipe when asked about it on their FB page. New labelling saying new recipe would have prompted a careful re-reading of the ingredients list. Ethical vegans were upset by this, but anyone lactose intolerant who got caught out would have been made ill.

I'm also vegan, the reason for this change was the original supplier either went out of business or stopped producing these altogether and so Asda and Morrison's who both sold the same product stopped selling them, Asda first then Morrisons a year or two later. Morrisons did confirm the original ones were vegan. Morrisons are good in some ways though, their free from flapjack used to contain honey meaning it was fine for dairy allergy sufferers but not for vegans, they have recently removed the honey after requests from vegans. They also removed milk from their own brand crumpets in the past couple of months as well (the savers ones never had it but the mid range ones did), they are useless at vegan labelling but they are one of the better supermarkets for own brand 'accidentally vegan' products. I'm not a fan of faux-meat products mainly because they tend to involve protein isolates and are quite 'junky' but as an occasional thing when cooking for other family members they are very useful
