Not heard of that! How do I get Cahoot bank transactions into Egg's money manager and do I have to be an Egg account holder to use it?0 -
Click Here for the thread about this service, you would have to check out thier website to establish whether MS Money files can be downloaded.0

Ah, yes, I remember it now - but the consequences are disastrous if you are subject to online fraud with an account accessed via this service!0

I just copy and paste into Excel. Far less complicated! (and presumably you can import from Excel into most packages).0

Transfers between A&L accounts are instantaneous if done online, otherwise they take one day (at least that is what A&L told me).
They're not... as I have just found out to my cost. Take a transfer from an online saver to a premier current account. Do it online and the transfer _appears_ to be instant: the "balance" of the originating account goes down, the "balance" of the destination account goes up, and crucially the "available balance" of the destination account also goes up. But if you then try and transfer the funds immediately out of the destination account, it allows it and _then_ warns you that you may have incurred charges!
This has happened to me this afternoon. I've phoned the call centre to check it, and according to them although it appears instantaneous it isn't. The initial transfer between A&L accounts won't clear until the end of the next working day (Tuesday pm), and the transfer out of the so-called "available" funds in the premier current account will be polled first thing on Tuesday. This means I'll go overdrawn on that account for one day: forunately within an authorized overdraft limit, but still, it will cost a day's interest. It is cynical and shambolic at the same time.
'We get lots of people ringing up about this "available" business.' Too bloody right. According to the call centre, the only account where the internal transfers are advertised as being "truly" (ahem) instant is the "Plus Saver" (or did they say the Premier Plus?). I forget now, but to be honest this customer is more likely to be ditching than switching.0
