How to fix my Grundfox 15-50 Circulator pump?

Hi All,
My Grunfox UPS 15-50 Selectric circulator pump is broken and will no longer circulate water to my hot water gas heater.
Can anyone suggest how I can fix it?
I have removed the vent plug and rotated the shaft with a screwdriver to verify free movement. Interestingly, the first time I did this, the pump started to work and circulate water through the boiler. However, subsequent retries failed to get the pump to work.
Also, when I open the vent plug I get two leaks. The first one is a dirty drip from the bottom of the plug and the other is a stream of clear water. Is this normal?
Finally, is there anyway to check what caused the pump to fail? Dirty water? Mechanical failure? Incorrect settings?
Thanks,
Pete.

Hi
That would explain your noisy pipework.
You need a new pump, if you are lucky it will run ok for the next ? years but it might also fail in as little as 24hours,it all depends on how much iron oxide is in the system.
Replace the whole pump not just the head as you will then have clean /clear waterways in and out of the pump. Failure can also be the result of air drawn into the system by having the speed on 3. Can't say from here what your system is like so you either get someone in or DIY.
Good luck.

Good afternoon: Have you managed to sort out your pump?

I am currently waiting for my new pump to arrive.
Although I have managed to get the old one to work by setting the speed to the highest setting.
I would still prefer to replace it as I can't rely on the pump to circulate water when I am out of the house.
Thanks for your advice.
