My kitchen mixer tap is broken and I am looking for a new tap. I'd like one which produces nice bubbly water to save on the water and gas bills. Am I better to buy a normal tap with an aerator gadget separately, or an integrated one? Can someone advise a good choice? A plumber has quoted me £185 supply and fit for an oyxgen mixer tap, and another plumber £35 if I supply the tap myself. Most taps on the market do not seem to contain aerators though, unless I am mistaken?

Strange I have changed a kitchen tap today in my property. It was a mixer tap leaking from the casting somewhere. Bought a replacement from screw fix. I have one of those one handed wrenches to undo the nuts that clamp the tap to the worktop. So getting the tap off was not too bad. The nightmare began when refitting. The braided hose was so difficult to get at I had to remove the the pipe that goes to the waste. Anyway thank goodness I had spare braided hose and seals for the waste. 2 and a half hours and every bone has been tested. No leaks and shiny new mixer tap and renewed waste and overflow and plug. That bloke offering to do a tap change for thirty five quid is cheap I was quoted for just the tap 80 to a hundred.
Oh What a game getting the stop !!!! to turn the water off, had to use mole grips and wd40 to shift it. Forgot to fill the kettle and was gasping for the tea.. must drink ten cups at least a day addicted:j0 -
What's an aerator tap? Is it the thing that makes the water jet out in little seperate jets.
If it is my tap has one and cost less than fifty squids. Looks good too. Read the reviews as I always do. I lot of taps and fittings are a rip off in my opinion.Nice lever control
and good quality finish too0
