Make sure you get a whole of mortgage advisor. Bare in mind Brokers do not have access to some direct only lender's deals, but you save a lot of hassle by using a broker and they can give you a mortgage suitable for you.

You could start with https://www.unbiased.co.uk/ (Untick sponsored searches) or ask your friends and family.

There are also brokers which are rated on review centre as well from http://www.reviewcentre.com/products2397.html

Bare in mind the difference between free and fee paying Brokers. The free ones pile their cases high in order to get enough commission.

The paid ones directly from you, will generally keep cases low enough to be able to give you more of an update and keep you in the loop. IMHO they give a more personal experience rather than another case number.

An example is the free one MSE advertises, while they are generally good (From review websites') , they do have their issues of lack of updates, failure to answer phone calls e.t.c.

I'll not be naming and shaming as he merely PMd me offering advise as to what questions to ask our own broker, he didn't actually offer any services as such.

That advice could be offered on the forum.

A Broker sending you a PM unsolicited is someone touting for business and is indicative of someone in need of work.
