I have a flat rented to a working tenant .My tenant has only been living their 3 weeks but is complaining about the neighbour having parties until 2.30am Saturday night /Sunday Morning .

The neighbour doesn't work and is an alcoholic .
I did knock on the door (mid week ) but no answer .

The flat is not rented via an agent and the Landlord has gone to Las Vegas .Not sure when he is back .

any suggestion how to deal with this .

    The council.

It's irrelevant who owns the flat. Where the LL is. Or anything else.

We had a problem with a noisey neighbour. Thankfully the landlord of that property was supportive and has now issued them with a section 21 notice.

I dont think the landlord will be keen to evict .I have seem inside the flat (via the kitchen window ) its very dated and if the tenant moved the landlord might have to spend money doing it up ,replacing the kitchen, bathroom, internal doors .
The landlord would be getting a reasonable rent (via housing benefit) for a dump.

The tenant lived in the adjacent flat until he accidentally burnt it ;)

Woah! - an alcoholic tenant with arsonist tendencies... I wouldn't fancy owning a flat nearby, especially with that tenant's landlord living so far off (maybe that's why he nipped off to Las V!) :)
