A Romanian who did not attempt to negotiate? There was something wrong with him
.
Now seriously, I am Romanian and have bought pleny of cheap cars as well. I am sure you know, most Romanians are just normal people and not dodgy in any way, despide what the tabloids say....
When buying a car I don't care about the odd scratch if the asking price is low - engine noises and rust underneath are the only concerns as they are the only things which kill a car. The rest can be either ignored or replaced from the scrap yard.
You should be fine, as long as the cash is legit (seen it all before...).0 -
Just bought a £650 car - turned up, checked it started, handed over some cash and drove away. It does happen.0

Reality of the vast majority of Romanians vs the Daily Mail opinion.
Although my mate from Timisoara brought me some cured sausage, he didn't tell he it was horse meat. Delicious and much better than eating Romanian death cake0 -
When I bought my £400 car last year I just turned up, checked it started, looked under the bonnet (as you do), handed the cash over and drove home.0

If he bumps it unless its cancelled your insurance will be picking up the bill.
Really? How does that work? Appears most posters on here agree
I would have thought the the insurer is only bothered (or even legally obliged) to cover losses incurred by the drivers insured on the policy.
How would the insurer be obliged to settle a claim for a driver they haven't agreed to insure? If they did, it's effectively saying any driver can drive the car insured.
Just curious to know. maybe some recent changes in the rules.0
