aXA cancelled car insurance due to polestar product

Picked up a used Volvo XC60 today from a Volvo dealer.
When I got home and opened up the glove box there was a blue folder in there stating the car had a product called polestar added (Volvo approved tuning product that boosts bhp)
Dealer did not tell me this and was not listed on any invoice or sales material.
When I called aXA to inform them of the change they cancelled my policy on the spot (cited it was a mod)
I am getting the product removed from the vehicle and hoping I get persuade my insurer to keep the policy running.
I am now worried that thecancellation of policy will put a black mark against me when I have not done anything wrong.
Anyone had any similar experiences?

Seems odd that the dealer would be selling a car with an (expensive) engine tune without advertising that fact, is it quite an old car / did you pay over the odds for it?

Also what was AXA's wording in terms of cancelling your insurance - From the sounds of it they should have just declined to offer you insurance on the new car rather than cancelling your policy as such.

If you've had nothing in writing yet, you'll need to call them and ask them to clarify the situation, as only they'll be able to tell you.

If they cancelled it on the spot then you now have no insurance (and a cancelled policy to disclose to any other insurer you approach in future). Or did they refuse to accept a change of vehicle in which case no record/no need to disclose etc.

So don't take it on the road till you have arranged cover elsewhere.

It sounds like unacceptable risk to AXA and theyve refused to offer insurance Fairly standard in the broker game, You want some broker who offers the Aviva Custom Scheme or the ERS one. They get upset on standard cars.

I'd say this isn't a cancellation merely an U/A COV

Since when did Axa become a broker??
All matter is merely energy condensed to a slow vibration, we are all one consciousness experiencing itself subjectively, there is no such thing as death, life is only a dream, and we are the imagination of ourselves.

I was saying that in the brokerage world this is pretty common, It wouldn't go down as a cancelled policy just a U/A COV

Try some of the Volvo forums and see who they use for modified cars.

I love the idea of modified Volvos.

It reminds me of the highly modified and lowered BMW estate I saw last week with a well to do middle classed driver. The sticker on the back amused me "4 doors means easy access for more w hores"
