Black and Decker GT 501 Hedge Trimmer Has stopped working

My Black and Decker GT 501 has suddenly stopped working. it does not seem that any power is getting through as it is dead. I have checked the fuse and tried from various sockets. I have not cut through the wire and there does not appear to be anything amiss. Has anyone any ideas how i can ascertain the problem and is it worth repairing. Any advise will be appreciated as I am not very technical when it comes to electrical equipment. thank You

Could be that one of the brushes is stuck in its sleeve or that the brushes have worn out. Take them out and have a look - pay careful attention to how the machine was assembled.
    Forgotten but not gone.

Maybe it is worth looking to see if the lead into the hedge trimmer has come loose. I am not sure how to undo the hedge trimmer to find out. It is the days on "The Throw Away Society". Nor do I know how easy it is to check the brushes. if you can't fix it yourself then it is probably worth considering buying a new one as repairs can be expensive. Bosch is a good brand

I am no expert but it sounds like it could be the brushes. Without dissembling the body I have no idea how you can confirm this fact. Trial and error I guess, If you are a DIY enthusiast it may be easy but otherwise leave it to the professionals or buy a new one. Last time I tried to dissemble an electrical tool I could not put it together again. Maybe someone who has more knowledge and reads this forum maybe able to advise you or suggest how to progress Good Luck

we suffered the same problem which was resolved by replacing old brishes which cost about £8 on line
