They actually change £19.50 for Certificated dealing, not £9.50 - and have some other charges that most other brokers don't have..

Hi, I was wondering if someone could give me some advice on how and where to sell my shares
I currently hold 180 stagecoach shares. They are certificate shares which i have had for ages. I got them from stagecoach when i worked there.
I dont really know much about the stock exchange and my understanding of it all is a bit vague

If you open an account here http://www.h-l.co.uk/our-services/Transferring-shares and send them the certificate with the completed form you can sell them online as soon as they show on your account. The total charges for selling that amount of shares should be just £9.95.

(Selftrade mentioned above are about to introduce a £40 pa account fee.)

i have some shares i would like to sell,just a one -off share save.do all the above have this 1% fee,is that 1 % of the total selling price?.
i think the shares are worth around 5k what would the relistic price be left for me after all the the vultures have finish.

Yes, 1% is on the total selling price, so £5,000 worth of shares leaves you with £4,950. There is no stamp duty, that is only when you buy shares
