in Credit cards
I made a few mistakes with credit when I was younger and have 2 ccjs on my credit report for £290 and £490 both from July 2009.
I've recently opened a aqua credit card to try and improve my credit rating ..got a low limit of £500 and apr is 34.9% and never put more than £50 a month on it and pay it off in full .
If I use this card for a year like this ,will I have a chance of getting a better credit card in the future ?
Or am I stuck with aqua forever ?
Chances in a year of getting a phone contract as well ?

County Court Judgements get removed after six years (five in Scotland) from your credit file, whether they are paid or not. In a month or so, they should have fallen off. Check that there are no other, more recent nasties lurking in your file.sarahlou29xxx wrote: »If I use this card for a year like this ,will I have a chance of getting a better credit card in the future ? If you run your Aqua Card well and pay it in full, your credit rating will undoubtedly improve, so, over time, you should get accepted to more mainstream credit.0 -
are they satisfied?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

One of them is yes but the other the company stopped taking payments .
It was Geoffrey Parker bourne solicitors and the payments just stopped and I rang the actual place the debt was from and they said they couldn't find any details of me .
So I'm at a loss of what to do0 -
Why bother paying old debts off when the CCJ's are coming off very soon anyway? You got accepted for a credit card and and so surely that's all that matters?
Keep your money in your pocket and just go about improvising your credit file0 -

But because there is a CCJ on an outstanding debt, the debt can never be statute barred. So the debt can still be chased or distress obtained from the court in perpetuity. Better to pay the debt unless you want it raised out of the wide blue yonder sometime in the future.0
