    I think they are.

You would be much better off buying a PC box then connecting it to either a large screen TV or PC monitor.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.

    Example:

    Lenovo E50 Desktop PC £119.99

    ACER G277HL 68.6 cm (27") Full HD (1920 x 1080) £159.99

An example of a cheap combo with a large screen.

On the face of it quite a bargain.
However, the J2900 quad core processor is not exactly a top performer, even against mere i3 kit.

It would be a good browsing machine, but would be very slow using resource hungry software.

Do you think that georgiesmum will be using resource hungry software?

It's just an illustration, not necessarily a recommendation.

Another option can be to connect an inexpensive Tower or laptop to your Full HD TV if you have one.
Then you can enlarge any text for reading to fit the screen resolution.
Tested it on a 40" Full HD TV and it looks good with text and of course media.

So that might be a good option for you, even if you have to buy an other TV, as they aren't that expensive and obviously have speakers built in, so sound is taken care of too.

I thanked your post and said on the face of it the computer was a bargain.
I have no idea if the OP would be using resource hungry software, because I don't prejudge people.
I do know however, that even quite common software such as MS Office and the like, become more demanding as they are being constantly developed.

What have you got at the moment? Why can't you just fit a larger monitor on it, if it's a conventional PC?
If it's slow, there may be nothing wrong with it that a clean install won't fix.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    I wasn't having a go.
I was just illustrating a low priced alternative to an all-in-one, but with a decent sized screen.
I have no idea of how much the OP was expecting to spend.
I don't have any problems running modern Office software on my dual core Celeron from 2009.

I have a toshiba laptop. Had it 3 years and had it repaired twice and still has the same problems.
Generally looking for something easy to set up and that is big enough to see properly. don't do anythig much really, banking, shopping and emailing. Can't even do photoshop now, which i loved doing.
Thanks to everybody for there help. Was impressed with ebay but still want an all in one but the large monitors are out of my reach so will have to think again
