Question about car windscreen claim with Swiftcover

My car is insured with Swiftcover and i'm thinking about getting the front windscreen replaced, as its got too many chips/scratches on it which can't be repaired. Can someone tell me what swiftcover mean by the second sentence in their reply below (which i got from their website). I was under the impression it wouldn't affect my NCB though i would have to pay an excess. Anyone also know what their excess is for windscreen replacement?

A: If the damage is to your windscreen then there is no effect on your NCD. However you will no longer be eligible for any increase in your No Claims Discount at your next policy renewal date

hmm thats one ive never seen.basically they are deducting your next years NCD increase.
so if you have 3 years now it will be 3 at next renewall.
very poor,never seen another company do that

Never used Swiftcover but a renewal quote I got from them recently shows the excess for windscreen cover as £65. Have to agree with custardy that they are unusual [aka tight as a ducks backside!] in withholding your next years NCD on glass claims.

I've also never seen any insurer impose a NCD penalty (and that's all it is) for a windscreen claim. Enough reason to not choose swiftcover if the premium differential is anything small.
