FVD -sorry to hear about your husbands friend. A sudden death must be very hard to understand for family & friends but especially a 4 year old. It's fantastic that you are able to give practical support at such a horrible time.

Also a pain the double bubble didn't work out work wise. I had a woman who worked for me at weekends but had a main employer during the week & if I ever got really stuck that's what she'd do. So good for her as I paid cash and everyone's a winner.

    Good wombling too :)

Today has been such a nice day. There was a free fair after my son's dance lesson that had a good atmosphere so we hung out there for a while. Did lots of cycling around various green places of south London enjoying the sunshine. Son had a paddle in one of the streams along with some very muddy little girls. Fortunately he didn't get quite so carried away :)

Have just started season 3 of Orange is the New Black on Netflix so looking forward to a few of those once son's in bed.

    Morning All,

Got my dates mixed up on the school fair, so a day at the park yesterday.

£8 tips ish from the pub last night, haven't counted them yet as there all over the bedroom floor from when I took my jeans off last night :-D the band was really good last night, so free entertainment and a couple of free drinks later on. There are many plus sides to my jobs, espically when you can't affoard to go out all the time!

Well I suposse I should drink my brew and get ready for work. Just a little shift today but it's all money in.

Have a lovley Sunday everyone xx

    Morning

    Good tips JoJo!

I'm taking son along to a football tournament that some of his friends are playing in today. There is a fair there as well so will have to give him a few ££ but hoping we can hang out & watch the games most of the time. He's very excited and was up fully dressed including cycle helmet & backpack by 8 am. We aren't leaving till 10.30 :rotfl:
He did make me laugh this morning though. Bump has just started to move when baby kicks. Son thought it was hilarious to get his fart gun (from Despicable Me) and set it off right next to my tummy. Poor baby will be born terrified. Or with a mature appreciation for practical jokes.

OH is off to do some painting at our flat which is money saving getting anyone else to do it. Hopefully be back in a few hours. Dont want to lose too much of our precious time. Why is it the weeks are always so much longer than the weekends?

    Have a great day all.

    Morning all,

Lovely bright day here today, such a change from yesterday :)
Going to check fridge & tidy it before Mr T del comes, with some veggies for our sunday lunch.
DH/Ds had ys bread for toast this morning,
I've had a banana smoothie to use some peanut butter & whey protein out of my use up box.
Washed a load overnight that's now on the line drying
Put another load in at 306 degrees.
Ran the dishwasher on the quick cycle.
Joint of turkey in the convection microwave (takes a lot less time the it would in the main oven so mse there)
Will make loads of mash potato & cook extra veg to help with meal prep over the next few days also.
My parents are coming for lunch (and bringing ds1 with them as he slept at theirs last night) our dessert with be viennetta which we got as a freebie this week for signing dh up to shopitize :)
Ds2 has a 1 on 1 swimming lesson at 12, so I will take a drink with me to save me going to the vending machine (it gets sooo hot in there!)
    Will do the usuals
    fpl
swagbucks (need to get it today so that I get the 14 day bonus)

Other then that not much planned, my go up to the park with the kids later to the playarea or play tennis.

    Have a good day all.

Jo Jo great news! I am months away from your stage but plugging to get there.
FVD - I'm with your dad on this one. A good friend who had a stillborn baby said at the time there is nothing anyone can say which could possibly make this loss more painful. What hurts is when they turn away.

And Bob that's hilarious about your son, the bump and the fart gun. IME the sooner the second sibling gets used to the torment that's coming their way from.big bruv the better. It seems to make kids very robust though...!

My good news? Bought daughter a red jacket from a charity shop for £3/cos I liked it. It is leather. In one pocket is a credit note for £15 still valid for New Look, her favourite shop. Get in!

    Hi All

    Lovely day in Wales.

DD and her lovely friends and BF have left to go back home 10 minutes ago and I am already missing them. So lovely to have young people around!

Have put on first load of washing and hope I get round to hanging it outside as I am chronically lazy at the moment. Feeling tired.

Tea and lunch from fridge. We managed with very very little food waste, so that is pleasing.

Back to work tomorrow. I sigh as I type.

Have a lovely mse sunday afternoon all.

Afternoon all, Jojo, I spent my 20s moonlighting in nightclubs and I totally agree it's a Godsend when to be *paid* to go out instead of *paying* to go out!

Today I am defrosting the freezer and I'm just about to do a grocery delivery for tomorrow when I get paid. There were still a few bits in there but I have them in cool bags in the other fridge ready to put back in when it's all clean and empty! At my last job food PRs would always be sending in new products in cool bags and I can't bear to see a good cool bag go in the bin, I took a bin liner full to the CS a while back but kept the posh or funky ones so we still have plenty.

DSD is needing to pay for an end of exams party tomorrow so we are poised to transfer the money on the stroke of midnight when I get paid. DH will pay it back into my account later in the day when he has done a few jobs.

I have seen somebody is looking for a magazine designer to do a lifestyle magazine from home. This would be my dream scenario but it's come 5 months too early but I'm going to give them a call and see if *somehow* I could make it work.

Have a good day all :)

    Evening all,
I don't know where today has gone. Suddenly it seemed to be 6.30pm.
A few money-saving bits of activity today:
*Updated grocery budget. Shopping came in at about £8 under budget & the only thing I still need to buy this week is wholemeal bread flour, so that's going to be a few quid carried forward to next week.
*Did pulled ham-hock & boston baked beans in the SC. It makes loads so not only have I successfully filled up mr f (a job in itself, lol!), but I've filled a good-sized container to freeze. I will take it out on the morning we go camping & it will have thawed in time to heat up outside our tent for dinner on our first night.
*mr f lifted our garlic crop & I tied it into bunches for hanging to dry. Discovered an alium pest so decided to lift shallots too as damage limitation exercise.
*Planted out rest of beetroot plants.
*Got out all our camping kit to double check we have everything we need. Nothing else to buy, which is good news. Started a bit of packing while we had a bit of time together to discuss what we needed to take.
*Made list of food we want to take with us. We will buy fresh stuff there as we don't have an electric hook-up, but much cheaper to take the easy stuff like coffee, tins, etc, rather than get them from small local shops in the middle of nowhere.
*Unpacked lovely belated birthday bag of gifts from friend I saw last night, whom I hadn't seen for ages. Some lovely useful things.
*Went through the week's calendar with mr f so I could synchronise diaries.....it doesn't take 5 mins & means that I can get packed lunches organised when needed, plan stuff I need to do on days I have the car, etc. How many times do I keep saying that keeping very organised saves us money? But it really does.
*Loaded washer for a cheap overnight wash, as forecast seems to be saying dry tomorrow.
*Shared nice hot bath water - I like going in first, lol, you get all the bubbles :-)
*Started pile of craft mags to try on ebay because mr f looked at our Pypal today & discovered we have over £40 in there. It shouldn't be too difficult to get that up to £50 so as to get it into our savings.
    *Did a couple of surveys.
*Knitted some of this wretched sock i can't seem to get finished. I MUST post them this week.
Busy day tomorrow, I need to do a bit of political stuff, then crack on with a whole range of jobs.
    Cheers all,
    f x

    Evening all :)
Well, it rained again overnight, but was mainly dry today, which was nice as we were outside most of the time.
Car booting this morning, I just a few bits bought for my sales unit. OH spent rather a lot though  Not sure why he is always buying [STRIKE]carp[/STRIKE] stuff

Went to a dog show run by the local hunt this afternoon. We haven't been to this for a few years, and it is much smaller and more refined than it used to be :rotfl: We went with DD2, SiL and baby GD, which was nice. Just a fiver to get in and a round of ice-creams, which seemed a fair exchange for sitting all afternoon in the beautiful grounds of one of the local big houses :) Baby GD loved all the dogs, and loved playing in the long grass of the wildlife area. It was nearly as high as her :rotfl:

Apart from that, I got mine and OH's accounts back from the accountant, and it looks as though we are both due a small tax rebate :T

Meals from stores - random bits and pieces in left over wraps for lunch, and I made a chicken and ham pie for dinner, which we had with new potatoes and cabbage from the garden :)

    No surveys available today
No watering needed in the garden as we have has a lot of rain over the last few days and everything is quite wet.

I am going to watch Strange and Morrell on TV (or whatever it is called) and then head off for a bath and bed, as all that fresh air seems to have worn me out :)
