Identity fraud ..advice ?

I was friends with a girl who lived a few streets away ,for the first time in my life last night I looked at my credit report and was shocked what I found .
On the section it tells you about other connected address ..her address popped up but with my name as if I had lived there .
And there's a ccj from 2009 listed under my name on my report but to her address for a catalogue ( which I never got ) for £400 .
She has moved since down south ..how did she manage this ? How did she even change my address to her address ? I'm confused ..is there anything I can do?

She must have known your date of birth and other information about you to do it.

Id contact all of the credit reference agencies and let them know of this, in fact it might be a good idea to inform each of the creditors listed whats happened.
  • Yeah she knew my date of birth ,she had been in my house before so she could of easily got info about me etc
The ccj was issued in July 2009 ..how long will it show ?
The only reason I checked was a debt company have been contacting me and I rang and said I have no debt with them ,they asked my address and told them and they said they had a different address ..now I know why

While that helps, I would say that's not the point though!

This 'friend' should be reported for credit / identity fraud and the CRAs need to know.

I did not say otherwise. Has already been said previously in the thread. I was just answering the only part of the OP's last post which was actually a question. My post is answering that.

OP - if your user name is in fact your real name, I suggest changing it (your user name, that is).

I don't think that will be helping matters.
  • Just emailed to change my username ..stupidly when I registered didn't think it would show ..hopefully they will change it
