Hi
I have checked my updated Noddle report this morning and come across a search on my file which doesn't make much sense!
Details of the search are:
HSBC (sa,sr,Tac).
Credit card Api
Checking Credit Application- (associate link search)
Date: 9 March 2015
I have not applied for credit with HSBC (or anyone)
The input address is an old address I haven't been at for 9 years!
Am I right in thinking someone has applied for a hsbc credit card in my name?
Can I contact HSBC and get the details of this search/application?
Will this effect my credit file and can I get it removed?
Thanks

The search appears to be an associate search...are you financially linked to anyone? If so and it is not correct you can apply to have them removed as a financial link.0

That makes a bit more sense, thanks for clearing that up.0

Financial associate searches such as this are not seen by any other lenders when searching your file...just yourself, the CRA, and the lender who carried out the search. So the answer is no.Will this effect my credit file...
Is there another person (an ex perhaps) shown in the "Connections & Other Names" section of your report?0 -
Yeah it's my ex, so that's the explanation.
Thanks for the help guy's0
