Sold a Kindle Fire on flea bay, buyer left positive feedback and all seemed well! -
ew days later a message saying the items listed as stolen! quick check and it seems Amazon store the device in your account hence its flagged up when he tried to register it himself.
Amazon live help cleared the issue and stated there was no problem, on telling the buyer they opened a faulty item case in ebay - promptly escalated to a claim.
The funds were frozen for a week when I get an email saying 'the buyer will return the item - when returned and proof shown we will automatically refund the buyer and close the case' - same day funds are released to me.
Forward another week, no item & no message from the buyer BUT I do get an email from eBay saying the case has been found in the buyers favour and they will be refunding from my primary funding source (Credit card) through paypal within 10 days
Surely this isn't right? seems like the buyer has been given carte blanche to keep the Fire yet I'm down the item, the selling price, the postal costs and even eBays final value fees!
Am literally shaking I'm so angry! Anyone have any advice or the phone number so I can call eBay? Thinking of just shutting the paypal account and deleting my banking details but assume they'll just debt recovery me?!

If you let an eBay case timeout without action this is the result.
From the buyers point of view he bought something which was then blocked as stolen, tried to recoup his money and had success.
What did you do with the eBay case?0 -
I had a similar experience. Lost all my money. Closed ebay account. Closed pay pall account.
Ebay is going down the pan now as the buyer has all the rights even though the seller is honest and trustworthy.
Would'nt go back to ebay, even if you paid me.0 -
Must admit if I were your buyer I would probably react the same if a device I bought flagged up as stolen. Fair enough, you say it was a genuine mistake that has now been cleared but there must still be doubt in your buyers mind probably coupled with the worry it may be blocked again.
Giving ebay cases the ostrich treatment is never a good thing and as above it sounds like its timed out in their favour.
You could go down the route of stopping all direct debits and cancelling cards associated with eBay but they will indeed send a DCA after you to recover the money and any unpaid fee's on your account. Doing this will ultimately end up with you being banned. This will have a knock on effect for anyone else living at your address with an eBay account or even someone that's logged into their account on your computer or vice versa, eBay are very good at linking accounts.0 -

Turns out the good old days when you could con the buyer and send them a load of rubbish have gone. You actually have to send them the item that you describe. It is shocking.0 -
You have to get on the phone and start shouting at people at e-bay or paypal depending who they claimed with
.
Once they realise you wont be read a script, they will hold the refund until its sent back by tracked post.
PS write down the buyers details now before they lock you out of the system so you can begin civil action if required.I do Contracts, all day every day.0 -

Compared to now - you can work hard on an item with accurate descriptions and photos only for the buyer to demand a return 5 or 6 months later after having shgged the life out of it ,because the colour was not how I imagined or there was a single hair on the front of the item - or possibly RM losing it somewhere so you still get a negative/ defect even if you show Ebay / buyer a photo of the POP and of course you have to pay out againAs Martin says - please be nice - there is no such thing as a stupid question !0 -

This is the plan - really do want to speak a human and explain all this - can't for the life of me find a contact number to call eBay and refuse to send them emails as they can be ignored!0 -
