Is there anyway to get the tomtom to always take me on the M1 Motorway as my route rather than going to other towns and villages and some dirt tracks.
I had this problem today when returning back from Alton Towers to Sheffield.

I had that problem once. The TomTom App was set to use the shortest route.
Check in route options to make sure that your TomTom app is set to use the fastest route not the shortest. Otherwise it will take you through estates and lanes just because the route is a mile shorter.0 -
Or............... Just set a favourite somewhere M1 and then set it as a 'via' when when entering your destination.Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.0

Just follow road signs, TomTom will re-route as and when needed.0
