I'm SO mad...Working Tax Credit (Childcare)

I'm so angry and need to rant! But if anyone can explain this to me I would be very grateful!
I claim the childcare element of Working Tax Credit
My weekly childcare costs come to approx £68.00 per week, this is for before and after school.
During the Summer holidays she has to go to the Childminders full time which has resulted in costs of £98.00, £125.00 and £132.00! for the last three weeks.....i was reading my tax credit award notice and it states that if the costs go up or down by £10.00 or more per week to let them know.
I have just called to be told that because the full time childcare costs averaged out over the year come to £75.00 which is less than £10.00 per week then my payments will not change!! How am i supposed to find the extra money to pay childminder? I just don't understand the logic.
I pay the Childminder weekly for the amount of hours she looks after DD on a weekly basis......i don't average it out over the course of a year!
Does this sound right? Am i just being stupid?

My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say
Ignore......check!

Hello,
You have been advised incorrectly, although TCO prefer claimants to use an average weekly cost over the tax year, you dont have to. I would phone them back and explain that you dont average out your ccc and would like to change ccc for summer holiday period (it may help to average the holiday period out though).
