Returning faulty cat flap, what are my rights ?

I have a faulty microchip cat flap and I've contacted the manufacturer who want me to send it back to be repaired/replaced under guarantee , which is great :-) however that leaves me with a big hole in the door and no way of keeping the cats in or out also there is the security issue ! Is there anything I ask the manufacturers to do like make an exchange so I can have one in use while they look at my broken one ??
Many thanks ! :-)

How old is the cat flap? Might have been easier to go to the retailer for an exchange.0
