Head out to Niagra falls. Very touristy over there, but well worth to the falls. However the tackyness (sp?) of the place is quite amusing. Its only about 1.5 - 2 hours out of Toronto.
Maybe stop off for a spot of lunch at Niagara-on-the-lake. We hired a car for the day, was cheap.
Booked through Budget in Canada (if you book through Budget UK it may actually work out cheaper on their internet rate).
In Toronto Queen Street is great for shopping and general hanging out. Great restuarants in little Italy (I think around College Street). CN Tower was cool (if not a bit expensive), the glass floor at the top of the tower was excellent!"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
If your interested in theme parks they have a cracking one.

We had a great day there last year.
We went to a baseball game in Toronto verses the Boston red sox.
It was a right laugh, they have loads of entertainment going on all through the game, we stayed about 2 hours, didnt have a clue who was winning or loseing or why, but it was just great fun start to finish, got seats right behind the batter booked online before we went.
They have "beer dudes" who walk up and down the aisles flogging beer, foot long hot dogs, burgers the lot, you just that feeling of the "all American" experience, we finished the night off with a meal.
It ended up being our second best night out ever , although granted the meal was in the revolving restaurant at the top of the CN tower.
If you go to the tower in the day you see the view the glass floor etc and I think im right in saying you get express service or something in the restarant.
You can buy online before you go ( no queing)

Niagara is a must see, theres loads of ways to get there, the falls are amazing, and the town which is like 100 foot away is like a mini Vegas really weird, we stayed 3 days but we were chilling out you really dont need 3 days.
If you do go to Niagara there is a walk through ghoast train type experience its hilarious we had so much fun. the webby is down at the mo though.

I would recommend staying over night on a Friday or Sunday aprt from the town coming alive and seeing the falls iluminted on Fri Sun only they have a monster fire works display over the falls and its just great and free
They have a theme park there too http://www.marinelandcanada.com/
Like a smaller version of Seaworld, a few rides not brilliantones though, but you get sealion dolphin show which is good and you can feed brown bears Baluga whales and huge fish, we stayed 3 hours ish and was worth it.

My sister lives in Toronto and I have been fortunate to visit her a few times (but not for the last 6 six years) and I love Toronto (hence my name). If you go shopping you must try and find something called "The Path" which is an underground system of stores and coffe shops etc, it runs under other shops and buildings and is signposted quite discreetly and simply so be prepared to look closely. If you are there on a Sunday go to the harbour front where there is a market and entertainment and lots of places to eat and drink. You will have a great time, I am very jealous but perhaps after a few more months geting money saving tips from this site I will be able to afford to go myself! Have a good trip.0

Gosh,we must have been at that same baseball game as you last year, unless the Red Sox play Toronto a few times each season. It was around June 5TH.
We also tried the Paramount wonderland,it was a great theme park, about the same size as Alton Towers but all rides,so no queueing.
Niagara was great, got a bit carried away at the Casino, but went back there the last day of our holiday when the new casino opened and won $2500 on a one arm bandit,so that capped the holiday off nicely.nelly wrote:If your interested in theme parks they have a cracking one.

Major League Baseball involves 162 games in a season lasting from early April to the World Series in late October. Each of the teams play a mini series against all of the teams in their League and some of the team in the other Leage. Toronto are in the eastern Division of the American League. Their Division includes the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox. Each mini series will normally comprise 3 matches. This season they are at home to the Red Sox on 24, 25 and 26 May http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=tor and again on 12, 13 and 14 September http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/schedule/index.jsp?c_id=tor&m=9&y=2005. So it is only a 6-1 shot that you were there on the same day.
When there are no games on it is possible to do a stadium tour of the Sky Dome, which is well worth doing to get a look at the “behind the scenes” areas and how it all works.
Can also agree that Niagara is a must and Canadas Wonderland is a good theme park to visit. Go shopping in the Eaton Centre (http://www.torontoeatoncentre.com/home/index.ch2). which is on Yonge Street which is suppose to be the longest street in the world! http://www.city.toronto.on.ca/toronto_history/history_yongest.htm The CN Tower is a must do.0 -
A great thrill is the Whirlpool Jetboat at Niagra on the lake
http://www.whirlpooljet.com/01_rates/ for info and discount reservations (times/dates can be amended later if your plans change)
Also the Mandarin chinese buffet restaraunts fantastic choice and quality for about a £10
http://www.mandarinbuffet.com/buffet.html
The CNE (Canadian National Exhibition 19th August 2005 - 5th September 1005 is a cheapish day out and great fun.
http://mmi.theex.com/
As stated above the baseball entertainment is often hilarious and is relatively cheap (sometimes PizzaPizza restaraunts do meal deals pizza, drinks etc and tickets to Baseball or other entertainments)
http://www.pizzapizza.ca/english/pages/menu/deals.htm
CN Tower restaraunt, superb food and views. Canada's Wonderland theme park was good but in August the queues can be 45-50 minutes for rides.
Tim Horton's restaraunts for coffee, doughnuts and bowls of chilli are far superior to Starbucks.0 -
Hi There,
I went a couple of years ago, but just thought i'd warn you of something that happened to me.
We went to a little place shopping i think i'll need some help here guys but i think it was called Kingstone or Kings field, it's like a lot of nick nack and 60's / 70's clothes shops all in one street, it's very good.
be careful if you go that you use cash,
i used my plastic and the girl told me that it wasn't working properly, maybe something to do with the comany being in the UK :wall: stupid i know but i said ok then use this one and gave her another card.
When we had gotten home it seemed that both of the cards had been cloned and she had taken in the region of £17,000
Needless to say that it's not my favorite place in the world !0 -
Oh aye i forgot about the jet boat that is a good thing to do0
