These are quite old models and the prices you are paying for second hand models is high, especially the dell. Try shopping around a bit more.
Science isn't exact, it's only confidence within limits.
  • Where do you intend to use it?

If you plan to travel with it a lot, I'd go for small and light.

For home use, you can pick up a cheap flat screen monitor from somewhere like Cash Converter or Cash Generator.

I've got a 10.1" Medion Akoya, which travels everywhere with me.

It's very light (about 1.3Kg), has good battery life, and came with a full version of MS Office 2013.

    Cost was ~ £200.

A quick Google took me to the Amazon site that said a) that it was 2.3Kg and b) it had only 1.4 stars out of 5!

There is no way a 10" laptop is 2.3kg, although it could be the sku weight.
My 15" MacBook is only 2kg and that all metal case...

I would go with the Series 9 its a nice machine, even though its getting a bit old now.

Agreed. I think it must be a typo.

As for the one star, I totally disagree. I find it excellent.

All I've done to it, is upgrade the RAM to 4GB, at a cost of about £12.

ETA: If you look to the right off the Amazon page, it says:-

    Shipping Weight 2.3Kg.

If you are looking at a small screen one, see if you can try one out first; the applications use a lot of area with ribbons and suchlike, so you may find that the amount of space left for your data may be insufficient. In an ideal world, everything should be at least 1080p, IMHO.

Presently my model is the Samsung R540, it got damaged and is the only reason I'm replacing it, the same or better would be ideal.

I, too like Medions, though my present one is a 17". They do have lots of on site offers on smaller screens, though.
