    The best strategy may be to find your next home and then tell your landlady that you will be prepared to move out on xx date and that would avoid court costs etc
    Hi, I know this, but have my reasons for wanting to stay at the moment. I didn't really need advice on finding a new home, I just want a couple more months here as it's inconvenient to move at the moment.

    So what I'm looking for is a way to get this thrown off the accelerated process. From what I understand, the paperwork needs to be correct, which it isn't.

    Anyhow, I'm going to fill out the defence form today and I'll see how it goes. I may even take some legal advice on the matter, as I'm probably out of my depth.

    The deregulation bill was passed this year, and comes into effect in October(it won't let me post a link, but Google it), and it bans retaliatory evictions.

    This will only apply to new tenancies until 2018, and "retaliatory evictions" will not illegal anyway.
