Oh, but for tax credits the income was about £27k due to the pension conts he makes but the income is more than the amount quoted in the OP.0 -

It can't be backdated - no retrospective claims allowed. There was a press campaighn on tv, radio, newspapers, magazines etc. ('Its money with your name on it'). Thats what they will tell you if you tell them you didnt claim coz you didnt know. Theres a few websites you can try if you want to find out if your entitled to anything. You might still be entitled to tax credits if your son is in education.~~~~~~~~~~~~Halifax, taking the Xtra since 1853:rolleyes:~~~~~~~~~~~~0

My son finished his education in July and currently has been waiting 5 months for his 'Incapacity Benefit'. I keep calling but they say the Child Benefit office is holding everything up:rolleyes: I've had several letters telling him he must start work:rolleyes: I'm sure my son would love to work but his autism and tourettes prevents it. You'd think by now that there would be a special claims section for REAL disabled people as opposed to the frauds who just don't want to work:mad:
I hope things are faster here as I will be claimed IB for my son in a couple of weeks. He also has Autism and Tourettes and cannot work.
He has also just left school even though he's not due to leave until July because he was being bullied so badly that it's affected his health.:mad:0 -
Does anyone know - or can direct me to the forum as I am new to this- if child benefit can be received abroad - not just holiday.0

I believe child benefit can be claimed for a child living abroad as long as one parent is classed as working and paying tax in the UK. This could be offshore oil workers, military personnel etc. I am sure there are many others.
What i don't think you can do is go to live and work in Spain for instance, paying Spanish tax etc but continue to claim childbenefit.0
