Winners vs Losers

I've just started reading this competition forum and when you see all the I-won threads it looks great.
My point is we are only reading about the people who won, what about the losers?
I'd like to know if there are any losers out there? People who have been comping for a while and not won anything or very little. I think we need to see the other side for balance and to appreciate the wins.
If you do enough competitions you'll "probably" win something eventually.
I've only ever won one competition but I rarely enter any. I think I should start entering to satisfy my own curiosity about winning and losing.
Anyone want to discuss?

I'm a newbie to this too, and have won a couple of small competitions. Like you say I think it depends on how many you enter. The more you enter, the likelihood of winning must increase.
Would be interesting for those that haven't won to also say how many comps they enter.
too many comps..not enough time!0 -
I started entering competitions on 09/07 religiously and so far have not won a thing. Nada, niche. I live in hope though.0

Thanks for replying. Keep them coming. I think it is good for balance so it doesn't seem so "easy" with all these I-won stories.
Some people will just win more than others, fact of life.0 -

Sorry, just freaked myself out by working out that I probably enter an average of 120 competitions per day, so I've been working hard.
I've only recently started because I'm off sick from work and I've had a pretty good start winning prizes worth around £3k. When people say they enter a lot of competitions, until recently I would have said that 10 per day was loads but I think you would have to be a pretty lucky person to keep winning on that number.
I would say also that it also would depend upon the types of competitions that are being entered. Those which are posted with cars and fancy holidays tend to be either open for many months and/or are open to a wide audience so naturally will have more entrants and a lot less chance of winning than those open for say a week with say a day or night out.
Kipper did a poll a while ago which showed that the majority of prizes just turn up in the post. I haven't had any of those wins yet and it could be that they are slower coming through (wouldn't that be good if it was true!)
I would be very interested to see if there is anyone that has entered at least 30 competitions a day for at least 3 months that hasn't won a thing.
I don't think that it should be looked at in terms of winners v losers. Even if I hadn't won anything, it has cost me nothing has it's kept me entertained and stopped me doing something like going out spending money on clothes shopping.........hmm, it's actually saved me money.
Changed my mind, I would like to hear from anyone on this forum who would class themselves as a loser and why?:DPrizes for 2018

Winners and losers are very general terms and we can go down the road of what is a winner and loser. We need some way of measuring. Something along the lines of.
How long have you been going.
How many comps do you enter daily. If you do them all once a week, then divide by 7 to get a daily figure.
Roughly how long that takes you.
Your wins: If you have too many to mention and are a big comper try and average a monthly value or something that we can relate to.
I've decided to give it a go myself. I'll post later with my own terms and condition on how I want to do it as I want to be consistent.0 -
Sounds like hard work. What's the prize?Prizes for 2018

Do a competition - forget about it, if you win fine, but if you keep a tally of how many you don't, you wouldn't bother to doing any.
Personally I don't see any point keeping track of what you don't win and am quite happy with what I have had.0 -
I've been comping since the start of July, and off and on for about a year. I probably enter between 10 and 30 competitions a day, usually I focus on those closing the next day or in the coming days rather than those closing weeks ahead, so I don't accidentally end up doing the same competition twice and voiding my entry.
I've never ever won anything in a competition, but far from being disheartened it only makes me want to enter and win more to prove that it is possible and it's not just me that's cursed with bad luck.
I see people winning on here, and being truly honest sometimes i do envy the people who just seem to win lots in a short amount of time, but I know they put in lots of effort and therefore I don't begrudge them that. I only ask that people don't become complacent. If you win prizes no matter what their value, be grateful for what you've won. Many people go on to sell their prizes for cash, just enjoy it and be grateful you had this opportunity.
I do also think there is a corolation between the ease of the win and the difficulty in entering the competition. Those which are drawn by a computer at random are obviously loose cannons with no way of judging, but those that require a person to put in effort and that have entries different from each person - well then it boils down to the creativity of the individual and obviously those who are most creative win.
H.Know me for who I am, not for who I say I am.0 -
I've been doing comps since Feb 07, I do about 10-20 a day. I've won a few bits and pieces, the biggest prize so far has been £50
Maybe I'm wrong but I believe that most people probably win what I'd call bits and pieces
Occasionally I see that someone has actually got what I'd call a biggie (holiday) and that makes me all the more determined to keep on comping. I suppose it's the thought of what I could win that makes me happy. Plus it's great to get a prize no matter how small :j
