Zenith Collections - Legal Threats

Hi MSE,

I got a parking ticket in a private car park back in December last year, and after reading a little on this website, I proceeded to ignore many of their letters.

It's now got to the point where they are threatening to commence legal proceedings, and prompted me to check this site again. This time I read the newbie section, and it seems ignoring isn't best practice these days.

I have not kept any of the letters from Zenith, nor the original parking ticket. What should I do? Newbie thread says I should try and appeal, but all the acronyms used in that thread are highly confusing and I'm honestly not sure who I'm supposed to be appealing to.

Honestly tempted to just pay them to get it out the way, but that just feels wrong ;)

Thanks in advance, any advice is appreciated.

There is no confusion as far as debt collectors are concerned - Please go and read post 4 of the Newbies Sticky.

Ignoring also stopped being advised in England and Wales a long time ago - You most certainly did not read current advice last November!

"....after reading a little on this website..."

Crikey it was a little wasn't it!

I have kept my letters from Zenith from three years ago when they threatened me with legal action, I kept them so I can have a laugh when I am feeling upset!!!

Zenith are the next joke desk along from Debt recovery plus, and I'm pretty sure Zenith haven't "threatened legal action" as they can't, they may have said they will recommend to their client that they take legal action!

You haven't continued reading as far as the acronyms either. Newbies #2.

Keep going please and re-read until you undersatnd what to do. None of these replies are critical of you, but you must do the basic work yourself.

We can't help further until you've done that. That's how we all began.

Hmm no, I'm not a troll... I have been busy with other things, and have been reading the newbie section as I have been instructed to do.

I would simply delete this thread as I clearly should not have made it in the first place, but I don't seem to be able to.

Thanks for all the help guys...

p.s. not sure what the sex change comment is supposed to mean, but thanks anyway.

The acronyms are confusing? But a whole post in the newbies thread explains the acronyms!
