Boiler front has black smoke line up it

Options
I noticed last night that there was a black smoke line running up the front of the boiler, its in the kitchen so I didnt see when it actually puffed out but its the first time this has happened could it be anything top worry about? Its about 9 months old, a valliant ecotech combination condensing boiler
Thanx

Obviously not right, get it looked at under warranty. Something on the control board may have burn out.

Good evening: Valliant recently issued a product notice about the Ecotec

perhaps this is the problem affecting your boiler..call them tomorrow and contact your CORGI about the installation. Don't use the boiler until you have the installation examined as continued use could cause further damage or be a hazard.

No not yet I have to wait till an engineer can come out to have a look at it, so far they havent got back to me. Its not happened again but it must have happened for a reason anyway, I was a bit worried about carbon dioxide leakage or something like that. The front was never put back properly either the last time they looked at some months ago theres about a cm gap at the bottom where its supposed to close and the plastic cover under the boiler keeps slipping off a bit. I darent take the front off myself though its where are the pipes and controls are inside the boiler. It also has to keep being topped up every 2 weeks which is odd to me after having a valliant boiler for 18 yrs previously which only needed topping up about every 14 - 18 months, this is since they last came to reflush the system out it didnt need topping up that regular before that. I'll ask about this though when they come
    Thanx

    Hi

I would recommend that you don't use the boiler. If the front panel is not fitted properly then it's not room sealed and you could get fumes back into the room.
As for pressure loss ..you could look around for any water around the rad valves where you turn them on/off.

It's carbon monoxide that's the killer, not carbon dioxide.
