May be of some help with autism....lots of people experience the same and having people who get it can be a godsend (a bit like here!). There are also local support groups that you can go to & thats a real & practical support. Something like this can be devsatating as it shatters your dream of your perfect child so big hugs for you...
Great news on the debt busting, you're doing well!

hi penguin, it must be really hard to finally hear your sons diagnosis out loud, at least now he can have the treatment he needs and you can get the right support.

well done on the money front, you seem to be doing well. Keep up the good work.

Right thought it must be time for an update seeing as it was one of my new year resolutions and we are already 13 days in and still no update!

Have redone the snowball to include a few debts I had missed off first time round, I have been paying them but cos they weren't on my snowball I couldn't give myself credit for them! So my total has gone up slightly but I have also increased the amount I am snowballing so my debt free date has come down yeay.

Horse was very ill on Friday and we nearly lost her. Literally minutes away from being destroyed and the vet decided to give her a bit longer so we could say our goodbyes. She must have heard us and made a miracle recovery. She had a twisted colon and the vet wanted to take her in for surgery but we decided at her age it wouldn't be fair to her. She has somehow managed to untwist it herself! She isn't completely out of the woods yet so keeping fingers crossed. There will be a huge vets bill coming at the end of the month but it is worth every penny.

I have now applied to reduce my hours at work after talking about it for months so will be working 4 days from February. Although it seems strange when we owe so much, I was starting to worry for my sanity - everything has been getting a bit much lately. We still have a good income and live far from frugally (although I try to convince myself otherwise) so with a bit of planning we can hopefully cater for the loss of income. If the worst comes to the worst I can go back full time.

This is turning into a long update!

OH and I are off out for lunch today. It will be our first meal out together since June so looking forward to having some time together for a change.

I think that is all for now. Will update in another 13 days probably! x x

Hi Penguin, I just had to increast how much i owe in my total too, i never included my overdraft which was for £870. It was a bei disheartening at first but at least now everything is included.

Sorry to hear about your horse being so unwell, im really glad he is starting to make a recovery. I hope you have a good meal out today.

Hi everyone - Ive been really naughty and not been near this since January - oops.

Vets bill came in at just under 200.00 so not as bad as I was expecting - she has made a full recovery now so it was worth every penny.

OH work has been slow but we were expecting this and have adjusted accordingly.

Will hopefully have Capital One paid off by the end of May and that will be another creditor down.

Still havent looked into changing utility or phone supplier so really have to do this in the next few weeks.

Determined to be sub 40k by the middle of May at the very latest!

Son is doing ok - we are currently trying to decide where he will be best placed for a school - we are currently leaning more towards a local private school that has a good SEN provision

Thats all for now - I'll think of more to add in another 2 months or so! x x

Oops another month gone by without updating!

Not much exciting to report. Paid off capital one at the end of last month - yeay and now well on the way to paying off dorothy perkins (about 300 left)
Not quite sub 40k yet but getting very close now!

I have now paid for the first part of my OU course so no going back now - I must be mad!

Will update again when I reach the magical sub 40k - hopefully in a few weeks. x x x

Look at this only a week between updates Im getting good!

Life getting very hectic at the moment - me and OH working full time and doing a load of mystery shops, Law Degree, 2 kids under 6 one of whom is particularly hard work, house, horse and god knows what else!

Did 7 hours overtime today which is about and extra 200.00 quid although wont see it till July probably but never mind

Got a whole day off with OH next week for the first time in months. Mum is going to pick daughter up from school so we will have about 8 hours together - forgotten what thats like!

Off to update sig as only about 400.00 off being sub 40k wohoo which I will hopefully be by next update!

See you in a week or so x x x
