I've got two kids who recently upgraded their existing Nat West accounts to Student. It took ten days for the pack of stuff to arrive. I expect they are pretty busy right now but suggest you call them if you are concerned.

Also, unless your offer is unconditional (or you already bank with them), they will probably wait until after results day...

    Hi
Sorry to hi-jack thread, I have just applied for an upgrade online with Natwest but only have a year left of degree do you think I will still qualify???

Also good to know not to panic for at least a week or two, I was wondering how long pack would take to come out...

Some Student Accounts have a limit, for example you cannot have one if you only have 6 months left of University. You'll have to check NatWest's small print.

Anyway, still apply and see what happens.

  • I applied very early on and the process was swift and easy.
    - Applied for new account online.
    - Forms arrived next day! Signed T&C and sent off.
    - Got confirmation letter three days later.
    - Over the next two weeks i was sent the card, PIN, cheque book and forms for railcard + free webcam.

Some people have all the luck. I had to wait weeks for my Student Account to be opened.
