Solar PV system fault developed

Update: We've had a monitor fitted for a five day period which was removed today and downloaded, Just had a call from Western Power to say the results do show high voltage spikes outside of the prescribed limits. They are treating this as an emergency situation and are sending the "Hot Glove" team out to down tap the transformer. Following this another monitor will be placed in the house.
This is such good news as I honestly feared that the monitoring would show no problems after the readins he took from his Fluke meter.4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). WSW facing, 30 deg Pitch, Unshaded, Samil Solar River inverter, 16 Solar World Mono panels, Iboost on Immersion Heater. located in mid Lincolnshire.0 -
Update: "Hot glove" team have dropped the output voltage on the transformer yesterday evening and took readings of around 247v, obviously this fluctuates according to local load. Power was cut for about 40 minutes to do the work on the transformer which is located on a pole about 200m away from me.
Western Power engineer returned here this morning to re-install the monitor for another 7 day period, he told me the previous measurements recorded short periods of high 256v and not only in mid day time as some were during the night so perhaps not as PV generation connected as I had first thought. Whilst here he took another measurement on the Fluke meter at my main fuse of 245v.
I'll let you know how we go on with it but it goes without saying I'm much more confident that we have likely found the root cause of my inverter issue here.
Thanks again for your advice on this one Mart. :beer:4kw PV fitted 4th July 2014 (Green Energy NW £5600). WSW facing, 30 deg Pitch, Unshaded, Samil Solar River inverter, 16 Solar World Mono panels, Iboost on Immersion Heater. located in mid Lincolnshire.0 -
