Buying RBS shares

Hi guys

I am probably going to totally embarrass myself here, I do not have a clue about shares, so apologies in advance if its a stupid question :D

But with the government selling off shares in RBS, is it a good idea buying into these shares? They seem pretty low. I am not thinking about or going to buy any, just out of curiosity really.

Thanks

If you have no other shares then I'd say the answer is no.

Build up a balanced portfolio before looking at individual shares.

If you do want rbs shares you can just buy some from any stockbroker
Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.

Why do you think the price is low?

Not a stupid question at all but for anyone thinking of investing in an individual share - take a look at the chart, set it to 10 years history and see why its a very bad idea.
