Tax efficient investment for higher rate tax payer

Is there any tax-efficient investment other than ISA, premium bonds and pension contributions for higher rate taxpayers?

Thanks. Curious if anyone here has invested in VCTs or EISs before?

I looked at EISs once: we're not rich enough to want to take the risks. I doubt that the minimum subscriptions are low enough for us either.

On VCTs I've never really been interested, though jamesd's advocacy is beginning to get through.

I've some EIS investments through Seedrs. Time will tell! Example: I put some money into FreeAgent on Seedrs recently. Cracking product, good company, but could lose my capital easily. Do it for tax efficiency not scoring big.

I've not, but I found the guides on VCTs at BestInvest very helpful for a newbie like me.

Just starting to look at vcts, with a view to investing minimum sums in one or two over the next few months, still a few grand.

Also considering building up some zeroes to use up cgt allowance in the future, they've had problems in the past but the principle is sound.

Presumably ZDP i.e. zero dividend preference shares - the return comes as capital growth. We owned some years ago: very effective they proved back then. Visit the aic website to learn more.
