LL Ins Renewal - Unoccupied during claim?

Our BTL was flooded last Summer, due to the loss adjuster requesting numerous quotes, surveryors visits etc. it has taken months to finally get things done. Work is underway and due to be completed in July. Our renewal is due at the end of this month.
I've just had a call from our insurance company asking if the property is currently occupied. Obviously it hasn't been since the floods because the lower floor has been absolutely gutted and is uninhabitable until work is complete
The advisor said she would pass on the information to the renewal team however mentioned they if a property hasn't been occupied for 60 days they normally would not offer a renewal on the policy. I explained this is due to the ongoing claim and if it was fit for occupancy it would be let out.
Panicking a little bit now, can they refuse to offer a renewal because it has been unoccupied due to the ongoing claim?

I think the person who spoke to me must have been unaware of the full claim as they are currently paying loss of rent while the property is uninhabitable so obviously it won't be let out.
Concerned our loss adjuster may not be relaying necessary details (?) but will see what the renewal team say when they get in touch.0
