Housing Benefit & Child Maintenance

Hi, I have recentle been left by my partner of the last nine years. He was not the father of my children. I have just started claiming housing benefit and I currently receive child maintenance from my childrens father. He has recently started a new business and says that he cannot pay me maintenance any more. Will I be able to get more housing benefit to cover my shortfall and would the CSA get involved?
Thanks
Thanks

are you on Income Support ? if you have less money coming in you can let the council know and they might up your housing benefit, you can go to the csa yourself to make a claim to get maintenance from your childrens father

Hi, thanks for the reply. I am not on income support. I am getting less money coming in, but I do not want the CSA involved. Would the housing benefit people contact the CSA0 -
no the housing benefit people wont get involved, but if you apply for IS it can trigger a CSA investigation, is there a reason you dont want them involved ? if you are working then no it will be down to you to contact the CSA yourself if you wanted too.Hi, thanks for the reply.
