Can anyone recommend a free Webm video editor?

Looking for a free webm video editor to cut the video at the start and finish.

Any other recommendations for commercial software that works with WebM would be great too.

Only just came across this video format recently, so unsure about it. But Youtube seems to accept it so must be pretty popular.

Webm is a codec, VP8/VP9. I believe that avidemux might do the job for you if simple splicing is all you want to do.

I know it supports VP8 but not sure about VP9

    Shotcut definitely supports VP9 encoding:

If I upload a WebM file to Youtube. Can Mac OS X and IE9 users see the video(as they don't support webm as standard) or does Youtube convert it to HTML5?

Any good general video editing suites you can recommend, that work on MP4 and the others?

actually webm is a container, not a codec.
    VP8/VP9 is the codec

YouTube supports upload of many formats.

    http://www.any-video-converter.com/download/
is free & converts webm & other video formats to other video formats. You can change the start & end times.

If the video is 640x360 use the Basic Settings to choose 640x480 as the size.

  • Give AppGeeker a shot, it converts pretty much of video files including WebM and has a built-in video editor to trim the video with a exact start/end time.
