I didn't realise you could just destroy a will, I thought it had to be revoked by a newer will.0 -

Every will should have a clause in it revoking any earlier wills but it's best if the old wills are also physically destroyed.0 -
A will is normally explicitly revoked by a newer will. What people are concerned about is that the newer will gets lost and the older one turns up, which gives a worse result than being intestate.applecrumble24 wrote: »Oh thanks, I'll get him to do that.

I believe you can register wills ahead of time with the probate registry, which should forestall that problem.0 -
It has to be destroyed by the testator with the specific intent that this will revoke it. He might well seal it he bits in an envelope along with a letter explaining why just in case disaster strikes.applecrumble24 wrote: »Oh thanks, I'll get him to do that.
