My friends are getting married but want to rent for just a few weeks till his tax rebate comes then he will get a mortgage. Trouble is that fees down here are about £400 upwards no matter how short the lease. Anyone know where to find low fee companies?

PS Bournemouth/Poole

Rent for a few weeks, await future money, then (find a house) get a mortgage.... that's pretty close to 6 months in any case.

I think they will find they will be renting for more than a few weeks if they haven't found a house or got a mortgage yet. It is likely to be three months once they have found a house.

They could try letting without a letting agent. Look on Gumtree ( but beware of scams), word of mouth, local papers, notices in shops etc.

Otherwise rental fees are pretty common, maybe they could live with friends of family for a few months?

Agree with other posters. If they havent found house or got mortgage, they'll be renting for quite a while.

But to clarify, if they ant to rent for short term - holiday lets are probably their best bet.
