Paternity pay

I need to workout roughly what I will get paid whilst taking two weeks paternity leave. My wage for a month after tax etc is £1350 but for the two weeks I am off I will get £139.50.
So am I right in thinking I will get £650 plus 2x £139.50 . Or will I get taxed on the paternity pay as well? As this would be less than the amount you normally would get taxed on.
If anyone has taken two weeks leave and could just clear that up please. I have saved some money but just need to know what I would be left with.

Does your employer offer you anything on top of the statutory Pay?
As far as I know you pay tax and NI as normal so depends on how much you earn what the % is.

My employer is giving me 139.50 x2 so I don't understand if the tax and ni is just on the combined amounts or just of the paternity pay. As I won't be earning as much I would have thought my tax etc would be much less if anything for that month?0

You will pay tax and NI on your total earnings (including paternity pay). As a starting point, see what percentage is taken off your regular payslip as the percentage is likely to be similar?
Also keep in mind any deductions like pension or salary conversion towards benefits?0 -
I wish it was clearer than mud how much you would end up with.0

This is a rough guess....
your normal month - gross - net = tax/ni for a month
divide this by 2
this would be roughly your deductions on the full wage
your parental leave I would take 15% off
Not perfect but may be a bit closer.
Congratulations in advance xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
There's a tax calculator here http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/tax-calculator/
Just add the paternity pay to your estimated £650 and you should not be too far out.
You can calculate for a month and it does ni.0 -
Assuming you are on the standard tax code, and assuming you have no other deductions (pension etc) then it looks like your usual gross pay for the month is around £1610.
So if in this month your salary is half that, £805 then your gross income for that month with 2 weeks SPP would be £1084. Which would be around £995 net.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
