Hi,
On behalf of a friend does anyone know the current rules surrounding 26 weeks and JSA claims,as my friend simply signed off late 2014 due to being forced onto a 3 month course so he ceased his claim/no new employer details were given as he was trying a bit of self employment that hasn't worked out any help would be appreciated thankyou

Why doesn't he just apply for JSA (online) and find out? I can't see it being a problem, though they may make him do that course.0

It won't be a linked claim if that's his worry, but as many have signed off JSA for eg 3-6 months to avoid the WP or other W2W schemes, he may be asked to take part in courses in future. I doubt sanctions can be carried forward or added retrospectively if that's the concern. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0
