Seems you misunderstood most, if not all, the posts that explain how the FSCS works.0
-
Nobody disputed that FSCS coverage may be shared across a banking group - your point, long since dismantled, was that it is automatically so, whereas several of us have demonstrated the reality of multiple licences (and therefore £85Ks) within the same group. Go back and read post #16 (and numerous others) again!Except of course that as I've proved beyond any shadow of a doubt that FSCS is often shared by a banking group across all banks in the group
No you haven't! If you're referring to the Halifax quote, that clearly endorses the fact that Halifax and Bank of Scotland share a licence (with others) under PRA #169628, but that this is a separate licence from the Lloyds one (PRA #119278) that covers Lloyds itself, Cheltenham & Gloucester, etc.even examining a bank which has previously in this thread been described as having individual authorisation and individual FSCS and proved to be untrue.
To borrow your favourite phrase, show us the evidence....I wonder, has it crossed your mind that published lists might be outdated, superceded or just plain wrong?0 -
Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not going to continue debating this. Any reasonable person reading this thread will see the truth of the situation. I have no interest in trying to enlighten someone who has decided to be wilfully ignorant of the facts of this matter. It is just a shame that this will mean others will need to continue to clean up after Anthorn if he continues to post incorrect information elsewhere.0

Where did I use the word "automatically"?Nobody disputed that FSCS coverage may be shared across a banking group - your point, long since dismantled, was that it is automatically so, whereas several of us have demonstrated the reality of multiple licences (and therefore £85Ks) within the same group. You said the Halifax was independently licensed but I proved it isn't and what you posted is untrue. I didn't see the point of going further because you are already discredited. No you haven't! Already have done several times. How much evidence do you want for crying out loud?To borrow your favourite phrase, show us the evidence....
Anyone can copy from a list. I haven't done that and done my own research because I know that lists quickly become out of date and are therefore unreliable.
Ok I won, you lost. You and others in this thread are discredited. Pointless continuing.
btw the debate is about FSCS in case you didn't know.
Lastly ask yourself the question, "Who is trolling who?"0 -
the only one who used the words "independent" or "independently" in this thread was yourself. You said the Halifax was independently licensed but I proved it isn't and what you posted is untrue.
eskbanker discredited? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I didn't see the point of going further because you are already discredited.
the list we are talking about is the list of UK banking licences. You can claim for as long as you like that this list would become "quickly out of date and therefore unreliable", but you would just be totally wrong. This list changes very infrequently, and generally mostly when a new bank gets a licence, invariably with an entirely new number.Anyone can copy from a list. I haven't done that and done my own research because I know that lists quickly become out of date and are therefore unreliable.
Lastly, please don't forget:I'm done. Off to France. Back in 3 months or thereabouts0 -
Yes, count me out too - I'm all for a bit of healthy debate between people who possess both the faculties and the willingness to engage in this, but when (effectively) a childish individual puts their hands over their ears and says "I can't hear you" while talking over you then it becomes a waste of everyone's time! As you say, any reasonable person reading this thread (and a number of others featuring the rather warped thinking of this particular individual) should be able to differentiate the constructive comments written by the grown-ups from the puerile drivel written as if with crayon.... Good luck to those with enough reserves of tolerance and patience to continue to attempt the (evidently necessary) ongoing education of the troll by correcting all the errors, a labour of love if ever there was one!Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not going to continue debating this. Anthorn seems to be a strange individual, I've mostly noticed their presence on the credit cards board.
He seems to be a little naive about financial matters, and determines that his limited experience by default is the only way that the financial system works. The frequently quoted example is that you apparently need to take out a totally unnecessary loan and pay interest to a bank to improve your credit status.
I think their footer is the key to the matter, and their frequently quoted mantra that they were wiped out in the financial crisis, went bankrupt, job and employer lost etc. he has the absolute certainty on many issues that is only possible to the true convert, so analogous to a born again Christian, or an ex smoker etc
He can't accept the fact that many people don't have to have made disastrous financial errors in their lives to realise how the financial system works and be able to manage their financial affairs competently and efficiently.
Maybe he'll reflect on his French trip and reconsider some of those beliefs, and on his return be a little wiser, though I did hear a vague rumour that that Internet thing may now be available on the continent, and the break may not be three months.0 -
I don't care what protection they have or have not got, they certainly would not get any of my money for a measly 1.[STRIKE]5[/STRIKE]65% return
