It isn't true. All circumstances are different......and wrong though it may be-this is a situation that been female carries advantages !
Go and see a solicitor and get ACCURATE advice ! Internet legal advice is only worth the paper it is written on ;)

I really hope that this isn't true, he does not deserve even 30%.
Of course it isn't true, but you will help your case immeasurably if you leave because of DV at the earliest opportunity. Separating after 6 months of marriage because of your OH's unreasonable behaviour could be viewed very differently to hanging on and leaving yourself open to the possibility of it being denied because you stayed. As the previous poster wrote, see a solicitor.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Thank you all for your responses, I can't express how much it encourages me that you are all willing to give me advice. I forgot to mention that I have purchased a second flat, in my own name, this has happened while I am married but once again he has put nothing into it. I will look for legal advice but I'd be grateful for anyone with experience to help me. I can't believe how he has reacted with threats of taking my things away from me, I never envisaged that it would be like this.

Of course he has threatened to take your things and property away from you, that is what bullies do. if you read other posts on here you will see that if you had children he would say he would be going for custody and that you are an unfit mother

TOMORROW get some legal advice about getting away from this tyrant, looking after your assets and more importantly your safety. He won't change, this type never do, don't waste anymore time on him, put it down to experience and get out as fast as you can, and as Paddy's Mum says make sure you don;t become pregnant in the mean time, that's another one this type do!
