New built major repair help builders not helping

Long story cut very short!

Brought new build November 2014

Had loads of issues since.

Two big issues being

Front door not fitting properly and the lock breaking (twice )
The rear garage door lock failed door bent out of shape

So 8 weeks ago I contacted the builders saying what issues we Had and they sent a fitter to move the flooring in our bathroom as the flooring is all messed up as floor has sunk one inch. He arrived pulled the vinyl flooring slapped some glue and left.
He didn't finish the job and now it's all up again water is getting under the vinyl and we are having a wet floor. The garage door was fitted with a second hand door!! And was painted. The front door they said it's an issue with the company that makes them.

We are getting no where!!!!

This email below is what I sent last week and still no reply.

morning.

It's been another week that has past and we are no further down the line with any dates regarding the following.
(1) fitting of a front door
(2) painting of a garage door
(3) laying now flooring in bathroom.

We are now on week 8 since
(1) the rear garage door was fitted
(2) the bathroom fitter came and didn't carry out the correct repair.

Please can this be addressed today with dates for the work.

This length of time for work to be carried out due to bad workmanship or down to not upto standard doors is slightly beyond the joke.

What can we do?
We can't even use our bathroom for the water going through the floorboards.
We haven't used our front door since day one!!

This is getting us really sick with worry.

What's the next steps?

    I'd be escalating it.

    NHBC certificate on the property?
Is it a small local builder, or a big national?
Legal cover on your buildings insurance?

I'd also be seriously thinking about getting the issues fixed by somebody else, and then just dealing with getting the builders to repay the bill. Initially, threaten them with that, giving them a (realistic) deadline. Say, if they're not resolved to your satisfaction within one calendar month, you will be getting estimates for repairs, since you've lost faith in their ability to resolve the issues. - and you will be expecting them to cover the bill.

Why can't you use the bathroom, is it a wet room?
    It's someone else's fault.

No. But the vinyl flooring isn't to the edge of the room. So the shower tray leaks (another issue ) and we have a leak from behind the sink.

There is a 1cm gap all around the flooring and behind the sink the fitter cut too much off so you can see the floor boards.

There is no sealant around the edging of anything in there. With the floor drop water is going onto the floor boards under.

If it isn't a wetroom, then the vinyl flooring's not intended to be waterproof - merely drip-proof.

Who is the house builder out of interest?

My sympathies, but surely there is the NHBC certification to be considered as a matter of priority, as Adrian C says in post 2? I'd certainly be falling over myself (if not the uneven bathroom floor etc) to get this investigated asap...
What on earth did the bathroom fitter do if it was not the 'correct repair'?
    Sounds a nightmare.

I would start sending proper letters, the first one being the story so far with dates, 'work' done, messages sent, etc. so you have a proper paper trail. In the future post copies of emails and replies as letters.

If you take Adrian's good advice in post 2, letters and replies will strengthen your case if you end up making a claim.
