I'd be interested in knowing how long it takes with the different banks when your opening a business account.

hhmmmm..... depends.
I simply opened a separate account with my current Bank (RBoS), as I am a sole trader. Visited Business Adviser at bank, completed forms, took about a week, I think. I may have been able to access online banking before then. sorry, can't recall precise dates, but "not long, at all" is my recollection.
