Late payment fee

in Credit cards
I'm really annoyed with myself......I've had credit cards for about 10 years without one late payment and recently I missed the deadline on my sainsburys credit card. There is £668 balance on it and I missed the min payment which was due on 8th. I paid it today......so it's obviously going to be classed as late payment.
I can't seem to find anywhere that says how much late payment fee would be.
Does anyone on here know how much I'm going to be charged for this?
It's a normal credit card with a current £668 balance to pay and the minimum payment due was £15. Anyone know how much I'm likely to pay extra now?
Thanks

It's usually £12 for a late payment fee. That's going by other cards though, not your specific one.0

Hello there,
Sainsbury's Bank charge £12 for Late Payments received to the account.
I'd suggest calling them and seeing what they say; one late payment in 10 years isn't bad to be honest with you.
Normally as it's your first 'offence' they will more than likely avoid sending the marker to your credit reports but it's something you'd have to check in a month or so when your credit files are updated.
Edit: https://www.sainsburysbank.co.uk/credit_cards/support/support_creditcards_debt_mgt.shtmlIt's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Also, follow the usual recommendation on here, i.e. set up a direct debit to take care of (at least) the minimum monthly payment, which will avoid getting into this situation in future....0

I missed the payment date on my Tesco CC by one day. When I printed off the statement I saw they had put a late payment charge on my account so I wrote to them (snail mail!) to ask nicely them to remove it as it was the first time I had ever paid late in the many years I had had the card. They kindly agreed to do so and mentioned that I could set up reminders to come through to my mobile and/or my email address. So I now have reminders come through on both three days before it is due, will not miss again! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Thanks folks.
Enterprise.......did you send an actual handwritten/typed out letter in the post or did you send an email? Ive just sent sainsburys an email now, but I might send a letter in the post too.0 -

Snail mail = actual post0 -
Thats what happens when people take notice of chattychappy.
Glad to see somebody is reading my posts!
To the OP: yes, you probably will be able to get the £12 refunded. Even if a late marker was indeed sent to the CRAs, a single late marker will have little if any effect after a few months.
From your post, I think you were just paying the minimum? If you were on a promo deal, you might well have lost this. Check this when you call and ask them to reconsider if they have removed it. If they refuse and you are unable to pay off the whole balance, consider applying for a BT card.0 -
Happened to me a few years back on a Sainsbury CC.
I phoned up and apologised profusely and offered to set up a minimum monthly direct debit to avoid another occurrence.
They kindly removed the charge and never marked my credit file. I didn't have any kind of deal or balance transfer which they might view differently.0
