Student Loan Repayment REFUND

I started paying back my student loan last year once I started employment, and paid back £450 in total. However at the end of the financial year I was told I could claim a refund if I wanted to as I earnt under the repayment threshold. Usually, I would have just left it paid as it's gonna need to be one day, but due to some special circumstances at the moment, I could really use with that money, so I decided to ask for it back.
Following phone instructions from there staff, I wrote to them mid-April requesting a refund, with a copy of my P60 proving what I had paid and what I had earnt.
I am still waiting to hear from them almost 2 months on. When I phone them, they say its being reviewed and processed, but cant tell me any more,
Has anyone done this before, and if so, how long did it take for you to receive a refund, and in what format does the refund come?
Cheers

All student loans have cancellation dates so it might not need to be repaid one day...
Those who took out loans for courses starting Sep 2006 to Aug 2012 have these loans cancelled 25 years after entering repayment (April after course finished).0
