Is it actually worth rebuilding packs, I have some GP340 radios with iffy packs, I found its usually cheaper to replace with a OEM pack than recell them.

not a lot of Pye dealers about today

Maybe not but you can probably still buy No 19 sets (1940 vintage) and spares for them - plus probably those handies although truth be told I've not seen either at ham rallies in quite a while.

Had same issue with a Black & Decker handheld vacuum, good product but after 16 months battery started to fade. Decided that in the interests of sustainability, next time I'll seek out one that has a standard replacement battery system. I think Dyson may have embraced this idea and some tool makers have handheld vacs that share replaceable battery designs with their tool range.

A lot of these 'no-brand' drills share packs with branded products. You just need to know who made the drill i the first place.

For instance, the Clas Ohlson Coltech drill uses Makita packs.

Makita certainly do but the price of their genuine batteries will make your eyes water.

Sorry for hi jacking have I got this right?
If I take my Makita battery pack apart to find out the type of batteries I have in there then use one of the above links and order new single cell batteries I can then solder them together in series giving me a new power pack for my drill?
Spending my time reading how to fix PC's,instead of looking at Facebook.

Yes. However you may find it more expensive than just buying a clone type pack.

What normally happens is one cell dies, swapping the faulty one cell may make the pack useable again

Wonder if they could replace a B&D Dustbuster battery.
