Sorry if this has already been covered. Question re tax credits

This is for my sister.
Her youngest child left home 2 years ago and her child tax credits stopped (obviously.) However, she has still been getting £50 a month or something like that, in WTC as her and her husband's joint income is low.
She has not yet received a tax credits renewal pack, and she thinks it should be here by now.
Is it possible that they are not going to send the pack out and will just automatically renew? (One of her friends suggested this, that they may have started doing this...)
Or should she ring to find out why she has not had her renewal pack?
Is it odd that she hasn't got it yet?
She said she is reluctant to ring as there was a 30 minute waiting time on there today!
