Closing dates

An extension of this - TIME of comps ending needs consistency. I know for end date compers, they should try to be a couple of days ahead - but sometimes you get busy so you're doing them on the day.


I'd do the timed ones first, but sometimes I miss some because of the inconsistent titling:


12pm, noon, midday all used for the same end time.
Then there's brackets or no brackets 12pm (12pm)
Then there's @12pm or no @


A lot of different variations being used of the same thing (meaning they are not listed together, in order like they should).

I disagree that this is an American format - it is totally standard to use year month date when archiving/indexing files for the exact reason the OP suggests - it allows for consistency and for files to be in the correct sequential order. On the other hand, I don't think it is a major issue here so I can't really see there would be the will to implement a wholesale change of the way we list comps.
