I find that I can now save £1000 a month which I would like to do for the next several years. I'm with the halifax but feel I need to change. I hear santander is giving 6% ( I think ) on the 1 2 3 accounts but unsure. Anyone know the best place not necessarily santander ?

You'll have to go some to get 6% on £1000/month. Most regular savers are capped around £250/300, First Direct, M&S & HSBC could get you close but you would need to jump through some jumpable hoops!
You can get 5% current acounts on TSB & Nationwide. Also if you have an OH that could help in either case.
Cheers
