If anyone is going to Sainsbobs don't forget to check out tinned fish section or clearance section the red SEL "SALE" stuff may have gone down to 20p this week. If anything changes it usually is a Wednesday. There may be other bargains.
I won't be going as don't have a car today. :eek:0 -

Looks like all hell is starting to break loose here as more people realise what a huge impact the Welsh bike Velothon is going to have with the 9hr road closures. I think we're one of the worst hit of all as there is only 1 road in/out of village, all roads within 6 miles are closed off too and we have no shops etc. Next door has to go to work at 6am instead of his one lie in day. A few doors down they're on holiday arriving back at 1pm Sunday - they are blissfully unaware that they may not get picked up at airport & even if they are picked up they can't get home. Another couple are flying out Sunday late evening so will have to leave around 6am. Many work on [STRIKE]Saturday[/STRIKE]Sunday, quite a few in shops so they are going to have to leave home very, very early for a 10am shift.
Our MP phoned organisers who told him they had discussions with all MP's & also held public meetings. He called them liars as they hadn't spoken to him. TBH the first anyone I know knew about it was all the 'road closed' signs going up.

It's going to be utter chaos in most parts of SE Wales. Even if you wanted to see the race you're going to have to get to where you want to watch it before 7am. It's been utter murder trying to get out of the village this week with loads of cyclists training. Apparently no-one can get up/come down the Blorange (Tumble) as cyclists (probably FAR more than are in the race, are pitting themselves against this steep climb.
Residents are talking about sitting in the road BUT I think we might pop down to main road about 12.30 when they stop everyone who hasn't yet gone through the village and bus them back to the start line:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::p:o as they wouldn't finish in time for the Pro Race who set off around 12ish. Many of the cyclists aren't happy as they are slow and the bus sets off just 15min after the last group to sweep them up. They say the slowest people are in the last group instead of 2hrs earlier! Slow bikers are NOT happy with the organisers as they should have segregated them by times. They paid quite a bit to not even get half-way. Apparently they aren't allowed to continue if they are slow!
P!ss up in a brewery - sounds like the organisers couldn't do that either!
Stay away from SE Wales Sunday! QOC - ALL roads are shut for hours.0
